Silverado HD Trim Levels

Before we look into the features that make each Silverado trim unique, you should know what features are the same for all levels. These specifications essentially make the Silverado the amazing work truck that it is, no matter what upgrades you choose.

Every Silverado HD is available with both the 6.6-liter V-8 gas engine or the 6.6-liter Turbo V-8 Duramax diesel. The 6-speed transmission comes standard, but a 10-speed automatic transmission is an available upgrade on most trims. Except for the High Country trim, all Silverado trucks are also available as rear-wheel and four-wheel drive. Depending on the trim level, you will have your option of a standard or long bed as well as a regular, double cab, or crew cab.

Work Truck (WT)

The Work Truck trim level for both the Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD offers all the performance you need on the job with extra essentials to make the workday easier. Hauling features include rearview and hitch guidance cameras and the advanced trailering package. A CornerStep rear bumper makes the bed more accessible, while rubberized vinyl flooring and upholstery keep the interior cleaner no matter how dirty the job.

The Chevy 2500HD WT starts at $34,900, making it a great work vehicle and a perfect fleet truck choice. If you need a bit more hauling and payload power, the 3500HD starts at $36,100. This trim is available in all three cab options.

Custom

The Custom trim level is a step up from the Work Truck with a few features that make it look and feel more polished. If you’re on the job site often but use your truck off the clock, this might be what you need. LED tail lamps and 20-inch aluminum wheels give the exterior a boost, while carpeted floors enhance the interior. Cruise control comes standard with the Chevy 2500HD Custom as well.

Only the double and crew cabs are available with this trim, but you may find this helpful. The Custom is the only trim level offered solely for the 2500HD. It starts at $39.700.

LT

If you’re looking for something in the middle of the pack that provides the most valuable features but is also on the lower end of the price range, you want to check out the LT trim. Several features are added standard, including deep-tinted glass, a tailgate with both EZ Lift and lower assist, as well as 17-inch aluminum wheels. The infotainment screen is more prominent, and you’ll have access to both OnStar and a Wi-Fi hot spot.

The LT allows access to many of the upgrade packages available for the Silverado HD, plus the greatest number of exterior color options from which to choose. Available in all three cab types, the 2500HD starts at just $39,000 while the 3500HD starts at $40,200.

LTZ

This is where the Chevrolet Silverado HD starts offering the best features. Heated front seats, heated steering wheel, and driver seat memory make driving more comfortable, as do the many convenience elements. The exterior of the LTZ gets a considerable enhancement with LED foglamps, reflector headlamps, and daytime running lamps, not to mention the 18-inch aluminum wheels. The 120-volt box-mounted power outlet also comes in handy.

The LTZ trucks start at $49,300 for the 2500HD and $52,300 for the 3500HD. They are eligible for several LTZ-only upgrade packages like the:

  • LTZ Convenience Package I & II.
  • LTZ Plus Package.
  • LTZ Premium Package.

High Country

The High Country trim is the top-of-the-line Silverado with many standard features that are only available to lower trims in packages. Safety elements like rear cross-traffic alert, lane change alert, and parking assist are only a few of them. This is a perfect blend of luxury vehicle and powerful truck that can get the work done when you need it.

This trim is only offered in four-wheel drive as a crew cab, but you do have the option of a standard or long bed. You still do have the gas or diesel engine option and choice of transmission. If you’re headed for the High Country, the Silverado 2500HD starts at $62,400, and its beefier sister at $63,600.
